The Organizing Committee of the 2020 ILA Kyoto Conference invites paper proposals and poster presentation by any ILA members or non-members in any field of public or private international law.

ILA Kyoto Conference : Call for Papers

The Organizing Committee of the 2020 ILA Kyoto Conference is pleased to announce that the Conference will hold one or two special panels in which any ILA members or non-members will be able to present their papers. The panels will provide an invaluable opportunity for colleagues to present their research and receive feedback from participating international lawyers from all corners of the world. The Organizing Committee invites paper proposals in any field of public or private international law, preferably on a topic related to the main theme of the Kyoto Conference “Bridging for the Future”. The Kyoto Conference seeks to bridge the past, present and future, and connect the East, West, North and South, with a view to enhancing mutual understanding on diverse values, cultures and religions, and fostering new ideas to tackle global issues such as humanitarian crisis, economic polarization and environmental challenges. Ambitious presentations dealing with the bridging role of international law are most welcome. Please be aware that the Organizing Committee may NOT accept a Panel Proposal.

To submit an application, please send an abstract of maximum 600 words and your CV through the application page.

The Kyoto Conference will also hold a poster session. Double applications are possible.

In selecting speakers, the Organizing Committee will consider the creativity and quality of proposed papers, giving priority to early-career applicants. If selected, each speaker is kindly requested to submit a full paper for the presentation of maximum 15 minutes by 1 August 2020.

The Organizing Committee regrets that it cannot provide any discount for the registration fee or cover expenses for travel and accommodation. Selected speakers are also kindly asked to register themselves through the website of the 2020 ILA Kyoto Conference. The Committee will announce the outcome of the selection process to all the applicants before the deadline of early-bird registration.

ILA Kyoto Conference : Call for Poster Presentation

The Organizing Committee of the 2020 ILA Kyoto Conference is pleased to announce that the Conference will hold a poster session which provides early career scholars, including Ph.D. students and Post-doctoral researchers, with an opportunity to present their research activities as a poster at the Conference venue. The Committee will set up a time-frame during the Conference for poster-presenters to explain their research and discuss with participating international lawyers from all corners of the world. Submissions in any field of public or private international law are welcome.

To submit an application, please send an abstract of maximum 600 words and your CV through the application page.

The Kyoto Conference will also have the special panels which invite paper submissions. Double applications are possible.

In selecting poster-presenters, the Organizing Committee will consider the creativity and potential of the proposed ideas and visions. If selected, each presenter is kindly requested to prepare a poster which can fit a panel size of 240cm high x 90cm wide and bring it to the Conference venue by himself or herself.

The Organizing Committee regrets that it cannot provide any discount for the registration fee or cover expenses for travel and accommodation. Selected speakers are also kindly asked to register themselves through the website of the 2020 ILA Kyoto Conference. The Committee will announce the outcome of the selection process to all the applicants before the deadline of early-bird registration.
